Located in Praia do Forte (BA), this residence has
360 m² distributed over three floors and was designed by architect
Sidney Quintela - from
CASACOR Bahia - for clients who wanted a large house with verandas and five suites to accommodate their family and guests.
The movable shutters on the facade were an important point in integrating the project with the surrounding nature. "Our challenge was to develop a basement area on a rocky terrain. To achieve this, we raised the level of the ground floor, which gained better ventilation and lighting," says the professional.
The program includes social areas on the ground floor (with
living room , dining room, gourmet area, pool and balconies) and the upper floor houses the residents' private area, consisting of
suites and a small kitchen. The basement has a home theater, games table and wine cellar, as well as a laundry room and maid's quarters.
"The use of
frames made up of movable wooden shutters was an architectural solution to control the incidence of sunlight on the building, allowing a pleasant climate inside the residence," explains the architect. Electrovoltaic panels were incorporated into the project to generate energy self-sufficiency for the home.
The use of color was punctuated in details and the beiges, greens and blues refer to the nature of the outdoors. The furniture is suitable for outdoor use and, as a highlight, the navy blue modular sofa can take on different configurations, streamlining the layout.
"The
wood stone in its raw and irregular form is the most prominent covering in the architectural composition of the house. It was used on the façade as well as in the living room and home theater, providing unity to the project and further confirming the integration of the interior with the exterior", concludes Sidney.
