Located in Búzios, in the Lakes Region (RJ), this beach house of 150 m² occupies a 1,030 m² lot within the Aretê condominium, in the countryside area of the development, near the golf course and the sports club. Entirely on one level, the residence was acquired ready-made from the developer and had its layout and decor developed by architect Marcela Martins – from the CASACOR Rio de Janeiro cast – based on a briefing that excluded any structural intervention.

The project serves a couple of self-employed professionals with two small children, who use the house frequently and often host friends and family on weekends. The proposal sought to transform the recently delivered construction into a welcoming and functional space, with emphasis on the integration of the social projects, keeping only the powder room and service quarters separate. “Entrance hall, living and TV rooms and kitchen share the same space, without partitions, favoring circulation and conviviality,” explains Marcela.

In the private area, the house has a master suite, children's bedroom and guest suite. The gourmet veranda, facing the backyard garden, concentrates a barbecue, counter, dining table and seating area, configuring itself as an extension of the social area. The project also foresees an open-air outdoor leisure area, with deck, ofuro, fireplace, outdoor shower and hammock area, not yet executed.

Without changes to the floor plan, all solutions came from the decoration and furniture, acquired entirely for the project. The kitchen gained a central island, originally non-existent, and took on a leading role in the ensemble, with built-in hood and features that expand the perception of space, such as the use of mirrors. In the living areas, the layout prioritizes conviviality, with comfortable upholstered furniture and emphasis on the high ceiling and the exposed roof structure.

The color palette establishes visual unity between interior and exterior, considering that the projects remain constantly visible to each other. Shades of green predominate, combined with neutral bases and the presence of wood, while occasional elements in black and terracotta upholstery complement the composition.

The existing porcelain tile floor was kept and combined with natural fiber and PET rugs, while the natural freijó woodwork, with rattan in the bedroom closets, in addition to textured melamine in the kitchen cabinets, organizes the spaces. Linen gauze curtains and occasional wallpapers complete the projects.

In the bedrooms, the solutions prioritize practicality and lightness. The master suite adopts light tones and a partially open closet, while the children's room incorporates playful elements, such as a suspended bed and trundle bed, in addition to accessible storage areas.

With a total timeframe of five months between development and execution, the project balances a defined budget and choices focused on durability, considering the sea air and heat conditions of the region. "The biggest challenge of this project was working with finishes that could not be replaced, maintaining aesthetic and functional quality," concludes architect Marcela Martins.
