With 580 m², this reinforced concrete house with ribbed slabs was designed by architect
David Bastos , from
CASACOR SP – to be the new home of a young businessman.

“The client requested
exposed concrete and sober tones in the architecture of the house, leaving the color for the loose objects and furniture, in addition to a large social area, with three lavatories and the possibility of integrating it with the pool with a gourmet space. He also wanted a social
kitchen independent of the service kitchen, the service area on the terrace and two planned
suites so that the
master suite could create a third suite”, lists David.

The main concept of the project was to create a large social area with integrated spaces and high ceilings to keep the gardens and the pool in the outdoor area in the field of vision of those in the living room. “
Due to the large span and dimensions of the frames, the internal and external spaces blend together ,” emphasizes David.

In the private area, the architect used a lot of
wood in the joinery, carpet on the floor and fabrics on the walls to make the spaces more cozy, with a highlight being the master suite with an anteroom, which is reminiscent of a stay in a five-star hotel. Another highlight is the
hanging garden on the terrace, with a beautiful view of the neighborhood .
The decor, which follows a minimalist contemporary style with touches of relaxation, is all new. Among the designer furniture, it is worth highlighting some international pieces, such as the orange Grande Papilio armchair (created by
Naoto Fukasawa ), the Saint-Germain modular sofa (created by
Jean Marie Massaud ) and the Superloon floor lamp (created by
Jasper Morrison ) that set the mood in the living room, the kitchen stools (by
Rodrigo Torres ) and the outdoor sofa (by
Paola Navone ).

The rug with a sinuous pattern embedded in the floor was designed by the office to visually delimit the living area. “The idea was to create a fluid
layout , with few pieces of furniture, to reflect the client’s personality,” says the architect.

“Our biggest challenge was to design a staircase that would reflect the brutalism and modernity of exposed concrete, which is very present in every corner of the house, and, through large spaces filled with glass frames, to be able to connect all of this with the gardens in the external area”, concludes architect David Bastos.
