Country house gets an annex with gourmet area and dream leisure area

Called Casa AU, this project in São Carlos (SP) has a unique story: when the Studio Otto Felix - part of the CASACOR São Paulo lineup - was called, the construction of the main house was already in progress: the structure was up, walls erected, and roofing completed. However, the construction was halted due to a series of factors, and the owner, after seeing Otto's work at CASACOR São Paulo, decided to resume the project under new direction.

The challenge was to take on an architecture that was half-finished and infuse identity without losing what already existed: the studio recreated the facade, redesigned the internal layout, and made adjustments to interior details, such as the layout of the kitchen and social areas.

During the process, the architect realized that the gourmet area was too small for the client’s lifestyle, who often gathers many people at home. Taking advantage of the fact that the lot had three parcels, Otto suggested creating a new building on the adjacent lot - a large gourmet space, about 200 m² with four barbecue grills, as well as three stone bungalows for the daughters.

From this intervention, the house gained a new facade, rethought interiors, and a social area that reflects the client's welcoming spirit - a renovation that transformed into a complete project.
