She, a lawyer. He, an economist. A young couple from São Paulo with a large group of friends and their first
apartment to decorate with plenty of space to host. The project, created by the architect
Mariana Monnerat, from MonneArt Arquitetura – featured in
CASACOR Rio de Janeiro – created a new layout for the property allowing for a social area completely integrated with living, dining,
kitchen, bar, and
TV room in one large space.

For this, it was necessary to make a major renovation to the
160 m² property located in Jardins (SP). All the walls of the kitchen, service area, and dependencies were demolished allowing for the emergence of a large
living and the entry of much more natural light into the projects social.

To create a division between the kitchen and dining room, Mariana designed a muxarabi panel. This way, even when deciding to isolate the two spaces, it is possible to enjoy natural light and ventilation.

The
dining room also received
exclusive pieces designed by Mariana, who is also a designer: the
table and three mirrors with organic shapes.

"The use of natural and textured elements such as
moledo stone, wood, linen, and natural stones brings harmony to the apartment's decoration," evaluates Mariana.

The kitchen, with a large swallow granite island that extends throughout the social area, was designed to bring a lot of practicality and functionality to the couple's day-to-day life. There, solutions were implemented such as a wet channel that organizes the dishes in a way that they cannot be seen from the living room and even a champagne bucket sculpted in the stone itself with an independent drain. A custom idea for the party-loving couple who insisted on having a bar and wine cellar in the living.

"Since this space was very important to them, we combined a good carpentry project with that of the marble work, making a sideboard to embrace the wine cellar and beer fridge. On its upper part, we created a lowered bar so that the drinks would not be so exposed. And, of course, in the warm wine cellar area, we made a travertine panel and used rebar to support the bottles. The side lighting with LED strip made all the difference, making the space super cozy as well as functional," she says.

In the intimate area, one of the
bedrooms was transformed to be the “
cloffice” (closet + office) of the resident. There, in addition to plenty of storage space, the office gained a backdrop for
videocalls.

In the master suite, soft tones of white and beige create a relaxing and cozy atmosphere. The carpentry is the highlight of the project, with a bespoke headboard and side tables that harmonize with the decor elements, providing an ideal environment for moments of rest.
