In search of a better quality of life outdoors, a couple of lawyers with two children exchanged the
apartment they lived in, in Tijuca (RJ), for this
90 m² one in Copacabana, located between the sea and the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon. Soon after, architects
Ricardo Melo and Rodrigo Passos – from the cast of
CASACOR Rio de Janeiro – were called to create a complete renovation project, including the decoration of all the rooms.

"The clients wanted cozy projects, the largest number of seats possible in the
living room to receive visitors, a
beautiful and colorful kitchen, and
touches of blue in the decoration. Since both work in a hybrid regime, they also requested workstations," says Ricardo.

With the renovation, the architects expanded the opening between the kitchen and the living room, eliminated the service bedroom to turn its space into the couple's closet, and integrated the
bathroom and the couple's bedroom to make the suite more spacious. The three original bedrooms were maintained.

Overall, the concept of the project aimed to create relaxing projects, simple and visually light so that the owners would have a permanent feeling of vacation, without leaving home. In the decoration, with the exception of the sofa and the armchair that came from the old apartment, and the embroidered fabrics from the client's collection that were transformed into frames, everything is new.

"We prioritized compact furniture with the intention of taking up little space," says Ricardo. Among the woodworking designed by the duo of architects, the highlight is the
multifunctional shelf that extends along the entire main wall of the living room, executed in woodworking with a natural oak finish. "On the
floor, we installed the
wood-look porcelain planks in the same direction as the shelf to make the space appear wider and elongated," he emphasizes.

The color palette has a neutral base composed of white walls and light wood, punctuated with blue in various shades, such as the rug in the TV area, the paint on the wall at the back of the dining area, the patterned floor and the lower cabinet doors of the
kitchen, the bedding composition, and the ceramic coating on the walls of the couple's bathroom box.
