Located in the Itaim Bibi neighborhood in São Paulo, this apartment of 147 m² breaks the monotony of the neutral base to celebrate color as a structuring element. The project, delivered in just eight months, was developed by the Dutra Pêra Arquitetura office (which has participated in CASACOR São Paulo) for a 30-year-old young man seeking a modern home, but with a pulsating personality. The result is a precise balance between the rigor of minimalist architecture and an audacious curation of design and art.

To meet the client's desire for open projects, the kitchen was completely integrated into the living room, becoming discreet and functional. The third bedroom made way for a flexible home theater, which connects to the social space through a large sliding door. One of the major technical trump cards of the project is the transition carpentry. The passage doors forgo traditional moldings, using embedded metal frames in the wall to create a continuous plane. 'The challenge was to keep the architecture clean, hiding the technical complexity to give prominence to the textures and colors,' highlights the office.

The color palette pays tribute to the visual arts and cinema. The main triad – green, blue, and orange – was inspired by the painting 'The Dance II' by Henri Matisse. The red details, found in lamps and specific objects, bring the dramatic intensity of filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar.

In the private entrance hall, this sensory experience begins with a triangular slatted panel in two colors: on one side, the sobriety of wenge (dark wood); on the other, the warmth of American oak. The optical effect causes the projects to change as the resident walks through the space.

The furniture blends iconic pieces with original designs. In the living room, the Block Sofa (Estúdio Bola) and the Up Armchair (B&B Italia) interact with the Goni dining table, designed by André Dutra himself, featuring organic legs with bright orange lacquer. The bar, one of the central points of socializing, was made of Wenge wood with fabric doors. The choice of material was not just aesthetic: the fabric allows necessary ventilation for the wine cellars and the ice machine, keeping the sophisticated look while 'hiding' the technical aspect of the appliance.

In the intimate area, the master bedroom evokes the 'Water Lilies' by Claude Monet, with a softer palette that contrasts with the red sconces. The old second bedroom has been transformed into a closet with an integrated office, where a floating desk designed by the office allows the curtain to pass behind the piece, reinforcing visual lightness.

The lighting, fully dimmable, was designed to create scenes of drama and coziness, ensuring the apartment changes personality between day – flooded with natural light – and night, when the decorative design lamps take on the role of luminous sculptures.
