Entre araucárias e arte: reforma atualiza casa-galeria em Curitiba (Bia Nauiack/CASACOR)
Located in Curitiba (PR), between araucarias and humid breezes, this residence was originally designed by architect Oscar Mueller, featuring a modern and timeless architecture, conceived to engage with the tropical climate. The generous roof protects the masonry from the rain, and the construction details—such as the delicate carpentry—allow the house to breathe.

Decades later, the Elmor Studio (from the ensemble CASACOR Paraná) was invited to carry out a renovation of the interiors, respecting the essence of the house while updating spaces and connections without breaking its original soul. The intervention did not impose, it only revealed, more clearly, what the house had already been whispering.

The intervention by Elmor Studio reorganized the flows and narrowed the ties between inside and outside. The old service area was replaced by a patio between the kitchen and the gourmet space—now, one of the most lived-in projects of the house. A wooden pergola and a retractable roof provide shade, comfort, and flexibility. The vegetation completes the architecture.

The new kitchen, integrated with the gourmet, has become the heart of the house. The intimate living area was redesigned for the daughters, with autonomy and comfort. The new attachments were designed to celebrate permanence and gathering.

The house also functions as an art gallery, a living space where art and affection are inseparable. The walls, like skins, reveal layers of time. Among books, photographs, sculptures, and signed furniture, the gaze finds rest and surprise. The composition is maximalist, but never excessive.

In the collection, there are pieces by Tomie Ohtake, Vik Muniz, Hugo Mendes, and Martin Chambi.
