Located on one of São Paulo’s most emblematic streets, Consolação, this project by the firm NJ+ Arquitetos – part of the CASACOR São Paulo lineup – departs from the office’s usual approach by embracing striking colors and warmer tones. Conceived as the home of a businessman during his stays in the city, the apartment had its original layout completely transformed to meet the client’s needs and wishes in each project.

A lover of large, integrated, and welcoming spaces for entertaining friends, he also has a strong affinity with an urban, contemporary aesthetic. The appreciation of elements with the building’s original exposed structures lends the spaces a unique personality, reflecting the resident’s lifestyle and preferences.

Upon entering the living room, there is an immediate sense of well-being. Brazilian modernism is one of the pillars of the project, and concrete takes center stage not only as a structural element but also as an aesthetic expression. The original wood flooring was preserved, creating a natural harmony with the exposed beams. The result is a welcoming ensemble full of personality.

The resident, a great enthusiast of Brazilian design, brings together in the space pieces by names such as Percival Lafer, Sérgio Rodrigues, Oscar Niemeyer, and Jorge Zalszupin. These are furnishings with organic, timeless forms that are extremely comfortable, which fill the project with identity and elegance.

The large windows allow the green of the treetops to blend into the decor. The color palette takes its cue from the tone of the original wood flooring and was carefully considered to create a fluid connection among the finishes. The range includes shades of green, terracotta, wood, and strategic accents of other colors.

At the client’s request, the kitchen was designed to integrate with the living room and the dining room, with fluted glass doors that offer subtle transparency while still allowing the space to be closed off when necessary. The project follows a cleaner aesthetic, featuring the Girafa stools designed by Lina Bo Bardi. Floor and walls clad in white terrazzo with green chips complete the room’s light and functional atmosphere.

In the private area, the apartment features a primary suite, a guest suite, and a home office that can be converted into a bedroom if needed. In the primary suite, the headboard, designed by NJ+, introduces a striking tone in the millwork, creating an interesting contrast with the light, neutral atmosphere that prevails in the rest of the project.
