Born in Sorocaba, in the interior of São Paulo, businessman Renato Antunes (in charge of the company Braé Hair) lives in São Paulo but loves Rio de Janeiro and often says that the capital of Rio inspires his best ideas. The decision to rent this
apartment of
260 m² arose from the desire to have a fixed base in the city again, this time facing Ipanema beach.

With the keys in hand, Renato commissioned architects
Pedro Kastrup, Luiza Baeta, and Evelyn Sawamura from the firm
PKB Architecture and the
CASACOR Rio cast for a renovation and decoration project that prioritized the social area, which has 60 m², and the
master bedroom.

"Renato wanted a
contemporary, clean, and timeless apartment to keep the omnipresent sea view in the living room and highlight his artworks, and rich in textures to bring comfort. Additionally, he requested to include pieces of Brazilian signed design furniture," says Pedro. "Since the apartment is rented, we did not make any changes to the layout of the property," adds Luiza.

In general, the interior project sought to create an elegant yet unpretentious atmosphere. All items that integrate the decor are new. Among the signed design furniture, in the entrance hall, special mention goes to the Alva sideboard (by
Alva Design) and the round wall mirror ep12 (by
Sergio Rodrigues). In the living room, the Água coffee table (by
Domingos Tótora), Ondine armchairs (by
Jorge Zalszupin), Archi side table (by
Luia Mantelli), and Jake stool (by
Fernando Mendes) mix with international design pieces, such as the Cité armchair (by
Jean Prouvé) and the Cork stool (by
Jasper Morrison).

In the dining room, the Cantu and Oscar chairs are from master
Sergio Rodrigues and share space with the dining table designed by architect
Pedro Kastrup (founding partner of PKB Architecture) and the air sideboard clad with tiles.

On the balcony, the João armchair (by
Maria Cândida Machado) pairs with the Leif bench (by
Sergio Rodrigues). In the master bedroom, the highlight is undoubtedly the Jangada armchair (by
Jean Gillon).

Among the artworks, it's worth mentioning the green painting (by artist
José Bechara) on the wall behind the sofa, the metallic sculpture (by
Raul Mourão) on the table next to the sofa, the composition of 12 pieces from the series "Nothing is New" (by artist
Marina Ribas), and the series of five small paintings (by artist
Shu Lin) on the wall behind the bed.

In the color palette, the project adopted a light and neutral base, with color points in strategic pieces, such as the Cité armchair (by
Jean Prouvé), ordered with upholstery in yellow fabric.
