To adapt the
118 m² property in Gávea (RJ) to his lifestyle, the resident – a divorced lawyer who usually has his three children over at the weekend – commissioned architect
Rafael Ramos , from the
CASACOR Rio cast, to carry out a complete renovation with contemporary decor.

The architect proposed significant changes to all the rooms. Among the main changes to the property's layout, the master
suite incorporated an adjacent bedroom and its space was transformed into a walk-in closet.

The old living
room was closed off to become the second guest bedroom and the kitchen was expanded by demolishing the old service room.

the original wooden flooring had a dark tone that compromised the overall aesthetics of the property and was therefore lightened. (Anita Soares/Divulgação)
The
bathrooms and
kitchen underwent a complete remodeling, with all the coverings, plumbing and electrical installations being replaced. “We covered the bathroom floors and walls with the same porcelain tiles, in the Calacata marble pattern, with a matte finish,” says Rafael.

“The kitchen had a linear format, similar to a hallway, which compromised its functionality. Since there was a utility room behind it that was of no use to the client, we decided to remove it to make it more spacious, with a cooking island in front of the TV and a space for a gas barbecue,” he concludes.
