Old apartment modernized without losing its original layout

The family of residents likes old apartments, with spacious rooms and good distributions in the layout. The 350 m² property in São Caetano do Sul (SP), then, fell like a glove into the hands of architect Barbara Dundes, from the CASACOR São Paulo cast: the entire floor plan faces north, with a generous incidence of natural light. "A sala has steps that have been kept, as a way of preserving the property's old features," says the professional. At the top, the dining room shares space with a bar and the lit cellar. The living room has gained in spaciousness with the large openings to the outside and the large ballast coverings. Light colors and loose furniture with curved shapes also contribute to the fluidity of the décor.

In the varanda some flowers were placed hugging a bench designed by the office, as well as a tea table, tall and full plants, which also create privacy for the couple. A wood and LED strip intervention camouflages the air conditioning installation. Signature design pieces are distributed throughout the space.
