It was love at first sight for the "Marvelous City". When the Frenchman Jordan landed in Rio de Janeiro, the enchantment was so immediate that the visit plan turned into permanent residency. To bring this new chapter to life, the choice fell on a property of approximately 100 sqm in the iconic Leblon neighborhood. However, the original apartment, marked by an old and compartmentalized floor plan, required a radical intervention to align with the new owner's contemporary lifestyle.

"We tore everything down. We left the apartment stripped to the bone because the projects were all very compact. The floor plan needed to be remodeled to bring more spaciousness", reveals architect Natália Lemos, responsible for the entire concept of the project and part of the CASACOR Rio de Janeiro lineup.

The backbone of the renovation was the integration of the social area. The microkitchen, previously isolated and functionally limited, was incorporated into the living room, as was the balcony, which received glass enclosure. Thus, the new social area accommodated the entryway, living, dining and TV areas. Where the living room used to end, now there is a cozy mini home-office, lined with an elegant wooden box that takes advantage of the natural light from the former balcony.

To meet the wishes of the resident, who wanted a minimalist refuge that breathed the beach "vibe" of Leblon, without falling into decorative clichés, Natália chose to coat the entire property with a beige burnt cement texture, applied from floor to ceiling. This visual continuity creates a sense of spaciousness.

The cabinetry, designed by the architect herself, follows the same premise of lightness. Using washed oak, the furniture blends into the walls. A standout solution is the linear bench that begins in the entryway as a shoe rack, extends through the living room as a TV stand, and ends in the dining area as a German corner, optimizing the space. In the dining area, an arch-shaped niche carved into the depth of the wall adds a sophisticated architectural touch and serves as extra support.

Although the base is strictly neutral, the project holds vibrant surprises in the intimate service projects. The three bathrooms of the residence became points of strategic color: the powder room features terracotta tones, the social bathroom gains personality with wine color, and the master suite is bathed in a relaxing green.

In the intimate area, the original configuration of three bedrooms was kept, but completely renovated: the owner's suite, a guest room, and a functional office maintain aesthetic coherence through light woodwork and clean design.
