In a building approximately 20 years old and only 12 stories high, located in Alto de Pinheiros (SP), the
penthouse of
650 m² underwent a complete redesign by
Felipe Carolo – from the cast of
CASACOR SP. "It had already been the home of the resident for 16 years, but over time, she expanded her
art and design collection and needed a project that organically integrated all her pieces," explains the professional.

The final project mixes classic French touches with contemporary design, without leaving aside the Brazilian essence. On the lower floor, there are three
suites, living room, dining room,
TV room, pantry,
kitchen, laundry room, service areas, and two storage rooms. On the upper floor are the gym and a large office and library, where the owner spends most of her time, in addition to the outdoor garden.

"A special request for a social area with a more
clean and sophisticated look, and, of course, that highlighted the
collection of arts, rugs, and crafts that were gathered from her numerous travels around the world and inherited from her family," Felipe shares.

From the time the client lived in Paris came classical references, such as
the boiseries inserted in the gallery and the social hall. Another highlight of the living room, besides
Persian, Iranian, Turkish rugs, and Indian kilim, are the works of art that occupy even the TV room.

The positioning of all the paintings was extremely thought out and enhanced with specific lighting, distributed in a way to highlight and showcase the collection. Among the artworks, we find
Volpi, Carybé, Mabe, Yolanda Mohalyi, Claudio Tozzi, Alphonse Muca, Silvio Oppenheim, and an oil on canvas by
Guinard, a family heirloom.

In the furniture, highlights include the Maralunga set from designer
Vico Magistretti, and the Ghost armchair made of glass, by
Cini Boeri. The curved sofa that hugs the other side of the living room is designed by Felipe Carolo's office, and the coffee table is by
Jacqueline Terkins. There are also pieces by
Sergio Rodrigues, Jorge Zalzupin, Bernard Schottlander, and Lina Bo Bardi.

A significant challenge was also presented to landscape architect
Clariça Lima – also from the cast of
CASACOR São Paulo – for the external area of the upper floor: a garden based on the
classic French garden, with a touch of Brazilian culture, without appearing too tropical and lighter and
clean than the existing one. The result was a vast green area with choices that include
jabuticaba trees, rosemary, tumbergias, jasmine, camellias, succulents, gardenias, and a lemon tree and another of sweet orange.

Finally, the
bedroom intended for the granddaughter received a theme from the
Monica's gang.
