In August 2017, downtown São Paulo became more colorful. The gable of a 17-story building, 55 meters high by 25 meters wide, was painted with Tomie's first two-dimensional work, designed in 1984. It is a composition of yellow and blue tones, with triangles that bend into soft curves.

To carry out the restoration, 360 liters of paint in eight different shades were used. In addition to the work on Ladeira da Memória, AkzoNobel and the Tomie Ohtake Institute have already delivered revitalized works on Avenida 23 de Maio, in the capital of São Paulo; at the Paço Municipal de Santo André (SP); and in the Roberto Mário Santini Park (Submarine Emissary), in Santos (SP).
