To celebrate its 11th edition, ArtRio 2021 announces the date of this year's fair: between September 8th and 12th . Following the model held last year, the event will have an in-person edition, at Marina da Glória, and also a virtual format within the platform ArtRio.com . The edition already has 56 confirmed galleries. "In 2020, we managed to hold an event that was completely appropriate and safe for the times we were living in. We achieved sales figures that were 20% higher than in 2019. Now in 2021, with the good results achieved by the vaccination plan in the city of Rio de Janeiro, and also from across the country, we are even more confident", reinforces Brenda Valansi, president of ArtRio.

The galleries participating in the event in 2021 were selected by the Curatorial Committee, formed by gallery owners Alexandre Roesler (Galeria Nara Roesler), Antonia Bergamin (former director of Galeria Bergamin & Gomide), Filipe Masini and Eduardo Masini (Galeria Athena), Gustavo Rebello (Gustavo Rebello Arte), and Juliana Cintra (Silvia Cintra + Box 4). "ArtRio online received more than 300,000 page views in one week in 2020, including visitors from the United States, United Kingdom, France, Spain and Portugal. It was also possible to have an extensive agenda of debates and guided tours online , with the participation of big names such as Ai Wei Wei, Beatriz Milhazes and Ella Cisneros", adds Brenda Valansi.

For the in-person event, which will take place in the main pavilion of Marina da Gloria, ArtRio will follow all safety protocols indicated by the competent authorities , including the requirement to wear a mask, the provision of alcohol gel and social distancing. The number of visitors will also be will be limited, with entry time and length of stay indicated . Tickets are limited and are already on sale. ArtRio 's online platform will broadcast the entire schedule of lectures, conversations between artists and curators, and guided tours of collections and studios. It will also be possible to take a virtual tour of the booths of participating galleries, see the selection of works and speak directly with the gallery owners. .
