A new year is getting closer and closer, and with it, new events to entertain and inspire audiences of all ages. The Pinacoteca de São Paulo released this week the schedule of new exhibitions that will be shown in 2022. Among the names confirmed to publicize the work next year are Adriana Varejão , Jonathas de Andrade , Dalton Paula and Lenora de Barros , in addition to the exhibition "Pelas ruas: vida moderna e diversidade na arte dos Estados Unidos" with around 100 works, among they works of Edward Hopper . noite longa andré komatsu pinacoteca de são paulo The main issues that will be debated in the Pinacoteca's 2022 program are related to the issue of " Brazilian identity " and whether or not this is a concept that still fits in the country's current scenario. The events will be motivated by the bicentennial of Independence. "The year 2022 marks the centenary of the Semana de Arte Moderna , as well as the bicentennial of Brazilian independence. The Pinacoteca proposes to approach both events from a critical perspective, organizing a series of exhibitions that look at these events as parts of broader and more continental processes", concludes Jochen Volz, general director of the Pinacoteca de São Paulo.
