Celebrating the exhibition
Lygia Clark: Project for a Planet , which will be on display until August 4 at Pinacoteca Luz in São Paulo,
UMA – a contemporary fashion brand – is making the
Bichos series created by Clark available for sale on its website. The initiative is the result of a partnership between the store and the artist, harking back to the impactful show at
São Paulo Fashion Week (SPFW) 2014 , which combined UMA's innovative vision in fashion with the artist's unique expressiveness. A collaboration that consolidates the idea that fashion and art can coexist harmoniously.
The
Bichos series was a collection of sculptures produced by Lygia Clark from 1960 onwards, during the period in which the artist joined the
neoconcretist movement, together with the
Grupo Frente do Rio de Janeiro . The Bichos are unstable structures that question the physical certainties of those who see them, since they are constantly on the verge of collapse and do not have an ideal form.
The
animal pieces: crab, Lygia Clark are available for R$ 280 in three color options – black, white and gray – and can be purchased both on the
official website and in UMA's physical stores, in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
