Discover 9 works of art from the CASACOR SC | Itapema 2024 environments
Among the countless choices for a CASACOR environment, art occupies a prominent place. Spread throughout the environments – whether on the walls or strategically positioned –, the works of art, much more than decorative objects, help to tell stories and even the concept proposed by the professionals. At CASACOR Santa Catarina, Itapema edition , this was no different. Below, we have selected 9 works of art that stole the show in the exhibition projects and that, in addition to finishing off the productions, gave a new meaning to the environments.

Samira Mussi Arquitetura – "Living Heritage - Connecting Origins and Inspirations"

The acrylic panel on canvas, by artist Adelaide da Costa Alves , was chosen to bring harmony and tranquility to the environment through its geometric designs. The shades of blue and white evoke peace and calm, the pinks bring warmth and coziness and the black and brown tones add depth. Two other works reflect the architect's proposal. In Brigitte, by Studio Aguirre , the beauty of feminine curves is celebrated using a carved wooden block from which blue-toned blankets fall majestically in an asymmetrical overlap. The sculpture Arcos D'Coliseum, by artist Ro Aguirre , is inspired by the Colosseum in Rome, evoking the grandeur of the arches in a minimalist and timeless aesthetic through the use of ropes of different colors.

Studio Kaza Arquitetura – "Oasis Residence"

Affection is the guiding principle of the loft of the couple Jackson Zacharias and Evelyn Gruber. And the curation of the works follows the same line. Delicately, sculptures, all white, rest on the furniture, such as the bust of the girl, created by Samuel Ângelo , where a golden brass dragonfly brings poetry together with “tattoos” with inscriptions such as Love Conquers All. The works Infinito Particular and Jardim de Pedras , both resin sculptures, are by the same artist. Still on this playful path, the loft features two sculptures by Sandra Barreiro: The Boy and the Kite portrays games, while The Aviator Boy refers to children's dreams and the incessant desire to fly. Finally, an acrylic dome reveals, joined with gold-plated threads, the dried bark and seed of a tree known as Xixá, the result of artist Neise Soares' wanderings through the Amazon, Cerrado and Brazilian forests.

Studio Juliana Laurindo – Sensory Garden

(Lio Simas/CASACOR)

For the CASACOR SC fragrance store, Juliana Laurindo selected a sculpture by the artist Tatiana Dapper Coelho from Rio Grande do Sul. The architect was inspired by the stars, due to their colors, energy, light and heat, which led her to create this piece. Delicately positioned on one of the walls of the space, the creation reflects the concept of human contact with nature and all the cycles that are part of our existence.

Jordana Battisti Architecture and Management – Alice’s Tea Bistro Café

Jordana Battisti Architecture and Management - Café Bistro Chá Da Alice. CASACOR Santa Catarina Project | Itapema 2024.

(Lio Simas/CASACOR)

Upon entering the exhibition café, visitors are immersed in the world of Alice in Wonderland with a blue wall filled with works by artist and ceramist Elis Teixeira . In Choose to Be Present , mushrooms of various species take us, from the 24 glazed ceramic sculptures, to the moment of the encounter between the main character and the caterpillar, who guides her through the wanderings of life. Opposite, on a pink wall, the tapestry Paths , by Ateliê Oveja , is inspired by the Cheshire Cat's answer to Alice about which path she should take – and one of the most famous phrases from the fantasy: “If you don't know where to go, any path will do.”

Rabelo Gervasi Architecture – Origin House

To pay homage to the Amazon, architects Carol and Paulo took advantage of their contacts in the North to fill the loft with works from the region. The most striking is Cunhã - The Future is Ancestral , a mat made of natural fiber from Arumã, woven by the Baré ethnic group from the Association of Artisans of Novo Airão (AM), with the intervention of artist and graffiti artist Raiz Campos . There is also a selection of images of the daily lives of the communities, part of the collection of the NGO Amazônia Stock, captured by the eyes of the young residents themselves and which, according to the project, contribute to the revitalization of the ancestral narrative of preservation. The only work that did not come from the North is Gyotaku - The Art of the Samurais Pescadores , by Edgard Max de Araujo , made based on an old tradition among Japanese fishermen, who applied paint to animals, such as the Pirarucu, and then covered them with traditional Washi paper.

Bia Kestering – Cosmopolitan

(Lio Simas/CASACOR)

The main colors of the room's composition were transposed into works by artist Franciane Maggio . She exclusively created the work based on the modern and contemporary concept of the loft designed by Bia. From the Chaos series, the works Verde Nebuloso (Nebulous Green ), the largest canvas in the space, evoking a sense of mystery and depth through the gradient of color, were born; the work Manto Cinzento (Grey Cloak), symbolizing neutrality; and also Sussurros de Merlot (Sussurros de Merlot), focused on the delicate and intimate. The work Subconsciente (Subconscious), a collage of information by Cristyan Pontes, completes the curation.

Felipe Medeiros – Refuge of Time

Felipe Medeiros Architecture - Refuge of Time. CASACOR Santa Catarina Project | Itapema 2024.

(Lio Simas/CASACOR)

When Felipe met visual artist and fashion designer Jay Boggo – a Santa Catarina native who lives in São Paulo and is a rising name in the arts – he invited him to serve as inspiration for the exhibition’s environment. Created exclusively, the works with their explosive and striking colors are located around the pool and also in the bathrooms, creating a contrast to the dark tone chosen for the walls. And to give new meaning to the bark of the araucaria tree and the millstone, the architect placed an imposing sculpture by Samba Design at the entrance, made with the bark of an araucaria tree, to honor the importance of wood, installed on a tafona stone, also known as a millstone, found in old flour mills.

Natalia Xavier – Lagom

In Lagom, a garage/living room designed by architect Natália Xavier at the invitation of Dimas Volvo, a set of works commissioned from artist Cassia Aresta frames the area dedicated to the home office . According to the artist, the concept is to have the language of a mural, as it is composed of several works, consisting of 48 canvases – acrylic on canvas – measuring 29x20cm. The work proposes free composition and transforms with each assembly.

Laccy Silva – Ancestral Pub

LCY Concept + Laccy Silva - Ancestral Pub. CASACOR Santa Catarina Project | Itapema 2024.

(Lio Simas/CASACOR)

The Karawara wallpaper used in Pub Ancestral was created by the O Tropicalista studio. Inspired by the spirits of the forest, as its name suggests in Tupi-Guarani, the exclusive print was developed in collaboration with the Laccy Silva studio and features flat-line drawings of a stylized forest. Mystical elements stand out in the exquisite composition, creating a unique and sophisticated atmosphere. This innovative design is now part of the Estampe seu Universo project catalog, which explores the aesthetic and emotional benefits of prints as simulacra of nature.
