CASACOR Brasília 2021 has a special connection with art. This connection begins at the entrance to the exhibition, where the installation
Galeria dos Heróis Invisíveis (Gallery of Invisible Heroes ) by architects Eduardo and Lilian Sainz is located. Considered
the first of the 37 spaces in the exhibition , it pays tribute to professionals on the front line fighting Covid-19, with black and white photos of
Breno Esaki on metal structure scaffolding.
Throughout the exhibition, sculptures, engravings, photographs and tapestries parade through the spaces. Some professionals of the edition wanted to
celebrate artists who connect with the culture of Brasilia . This was the case of Guilherme Bussamra and Elisa Fraga, from Guel Arquitetos, responsible for
Casa Cosmopolita . In the environment, the duo has two paintings by the visual artist and landscaper
Roberto Burle Marx , two engravings by
Lucio Costa , a painting by
Siron Franco and photos by the photographer
Bruno Stuckert .
In the
Gallery space, designed by the trio Caroline Oliveira, Isabela Diniz and Olívia Campos, the environment is entirely dedicated to exhibiting the records of photographer
Bento Viana . Among the canvases are symbols of the Candango, such as images of ipês, tiles by
Athos Bulcão , cobogós by buildings of the Superquadras and the Metropolitan Cathedral of Brasília.
At Bruno Pessoa's
Fiat Studio , from Studio Ark,
the garage becomes a large collector's space . Outside, the public is greeted by the Super Oxy sculpture with three steel heads, by
José Bechara . The Rio native has works in collections private and public, such as the Museum of Modern Art in Rio de Janeiro. Another highlight is the flow of the artist
Vanderlei Lopes in polished bronze.
In the
Casa Breton space, by architect Thales Zago, paintings and sculptures share space in the 300 square meters that propose a reinterpretation of country houses. The paintings are by self-taught artist
Jeffer Zion , while the sculptures are signed by
Rômulo Mazza .
Casa Finitura, designed by the duo Hélio Albuquerque and Sonia Peres,
received the technical jury award in the Best Use of Works of Art category . The art collection of businessman
Francisco Telho was displayed in a way that highlighted each of the pieces. Curated by Betty Bettiol, the space enchanted everyone.
Sculptures and tapestries
Sculptures also take center stage in the spaces of the 29th edition of the exhibition. In
Espaço Tempo , by Studio 2, architect Alex Claver and designer Wilker Medeiros, there is a sculpture by visual artist
Armarinhos Teixeira , which joins several other works of art that make up the space, such as a painting by
Lúcio de Carvalho and photographs by
Cristiano Xavier .
Tapestry was also the choice for the project by Palloma Meneghello Arquitetura & Associados, the group responsible for the
São Geraldo Bathroom . The piece is by the artist
Alex Rocca , who has emerged as a big name in the market.
The Rio de Janeiro artist
Carolina Kroff has two tapestry pieces in gastronomic environments in the exhibition. The works are present in the
Aroma CASACOR restaurant, designed by architect Flavia Nasr, and in the
Altas Gastrobar bar, a space produced by Studio Freijó. The pieces were created especially for the environments.
About CASACOR Brasilia
CASACOR Brasília is celebrating its 29th anniversary. Architects Eliane Martins and Sheila Podestá have a long history with the exhibition in the city, having participated as invited professionals in 1994 with Quarto de Casal. Later, in 2000, they joined Abadia Teixeira and Catarina Bastos - the duo that opened the show in both Brasília and Goiás -, in the administration of CASACOR in both locations. Two years later, they took over the two franchises in the Central-West region. Businesswoman Moema Leão joined Martins and Podestá in 2001 to contribute to the exhibition's public success by making it one of the most visited in the country.
