The document is being developed by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) of the World Health Organization (WHO) and consists of a set of recommendations on disease prevention . In May and October 2022, amigo_h sponsored two meetings in Brazil of the committee of scientists formed by representatives of Health Agencies from across the region, where guidelines for prevention and early detection of cancer were discussed considering the epidemiological, economic, social and cultural conditions of Latin America and the Caribbean. This will be the first regional adaptation of the European Code Against Cancer, which is in its fourth edition.

Ten works by renowned artists will be available and, to participate in the auction, interested parties must fill out a form with their personal details and a bid (starting from a minimum value) that will be deposited in an urn located near the lots of works of art. The selection will be available until August 6, 2023 , when the ballot box will be opened in the presence of an auctioneer and the highest bidder will win the lot. The amount raised will be donated to the Cancer Prevention Code Dissemination Project, the first regional adaptation of the European Code Against Cancer for Latin America, which will be used as a guide for developing public policies and to inform people about measures to reduce the risk of developing cancer.
