Art has always been one of the highlights of
CASACOR São Paulo and in its
36th edition this trend gains even more space, whether through the works selected to bring life to the 74 environments of the exhibition, or with the launch of the
Origami CASACOR Gallery , the first art gallery within the São Paulo event. Curated by
Cézar Prestes from Rio Grande do Sul – whose relationship with art spans three decades –
Galeria Origami CASACOR offers the public the opportunity to get closer to renowned national artists. Names such as Iberê Camargo, Amílcar de Castro, Tomie Ohtake, Rubem Valentim and Glauco Rodrigues guide the surprising journey.
"There is no right way to interpret what you see, nor an order for what you feel in this space," says Cézar. "Often, the public expects the artist to explain to them how to interpret the work, when in fact the objective is freedom, after all, how do YOU feel?" With this familiarization in mind, the "
Paper of Art " was conceived, a closed event that will take place on
June 17, from 11 am to 2 pm , and that will bring together architects, art lovers and collectors. "It is important to remember that all the works exhibited here can and should be purchased. Most of them were designed by the artists to perpetuate the art institutes, which are so lacking in initiatives. The promotion of national culture is the main objective of this special meeting", reiterates the curator.
Architecture
Linear, robust and uniquely light, the Origami CASACOR Gallery was designed by
Gabriel de Lucca , an architect at the head of the
GDL Arquitetura firm. With 192m², the gallery is predominantly made of wood and concrete in perfect harmony with the building. The architectural path begins in a wide linear corridor parallel to a labyrinth, which distributes and organizes the paths of the entire exhibition area without necessarily dictating its exploration.
The staircase is one of the highlights of the space. Its shape alludes to the
Tsuru (a sacred bird and one of the most traditional origamis in Japanese culture) and the constructive element invites the visitor to discover a viewpoint that allows an unobstructed view of what is happening around it. In a balanced way, the architectural envelope stands out among the works and pieces that emphasize and value national design and art.
Each section of the project was designed to obtain a different visual condition, exploring solids and voids, allowing the perception of walking inside a frame.
All works by the artists mentioned will be for sale during the exhibition period and
part of the sales will go to the Tomie Ohtake Institute and the Rubem Valentim Institute . Interested parties can make a purchase and seek more information at the space itself. Prices start at R$6,000 and can go up to R$100,000.
CASACOR São Paulo , the main event of the most complete architecture, landscaping, art and interior design exhibition in the Americas, continues until
August 6th at Conjunto Nacional, with the theme
Body & Home . The proposal of the 36th edition is to bring new readings and approaches to address major issues of our time such as inclusion, diversity and sustainability. The professionals of the 2023 cast present projects in reference to the skin we live in, in addition to that of the body, that of the house and that of the planet. This year, as in previous years,
CASACOR São Paulo will maintain its
scheduled visitation schedule , where visitors must choose the day and time they wish to visit the exhibition and, at the time of purchase, pay attention to this detail, as there will be a maximum tolerance of 15 minutes for entry to the event.
Tickets will be sold through the CASACOR app, on the exhibition's official website or at the event box office, subject to availability.
