The production of
furniture design and
contemporary art led the architect
Gabriela Herde from Santa Catarina to hit the road towards São Paulo. The trip to the capital of São Paulo was intended to immerse herself in the programming of
Design Weekend (DW!) – the largest urban design week – and
SP–Arte , which ended on the weekend of April 2nd.

The search also sought inspiration for the creation of her environment for
CASACOR Santa Catarina | Balneário Camboriú . Guided by the theme "Body & Home", the architect sought works and pieces in line with her creative process. Materials that can extrapolate the five senses, shapes that bring functionality and personality at the same time. "For my creative process, it is essential to stay restless,
seek out real-life references, travel, search, and explore the four corners of the world in search of what moves me . For me, São Paulo is synonymous with discovery, because what happens there doesn't happen anywhere else in this country. Whenever I go to design or art weeks, I come back with a little more energy!", says the architect.
At the SP-Arte Fair, held at the Bienal Pavilion in Ibirapuera Park, the professional's attention was drawn to the
blown glass creations by
Jacqueline Terpins . The unexpected combination of
OVO in the combination of raw stones and acrylic. Also, the launches of lamps from the
Wentz-Fungi collection by designer
Guilherme Wentz , in various heights, refer to the organic silhouette found in nature. The unprecedented and serial edition of the
Lina armchair was unfolded in versions in a process shared between the brands
Suite Design, Lider Interiores and Botteh .
The
collection presented by
Alva highlighted the uniqueness of each piece – screen, coffee table and side table – and
Deezign Concept Place exhibited the "
Paulistano " armchair, by
Paulo Mendes da Rocha , in edited versions such as the
Xingu . The project was led by
Naná Mendes da Rocha , the architect's daughter, and in this version the buriti seat was made by indigenous people from the Kamayurá community.
There was time to stop by the
Rosenbaum Fair , which was on DW!'s map. From her walks around the event, the architect selected pieces from
Opano and utility products from the
Cruzeta studio in Florianópolis. She didn't miss a visit to
Galeria Metrópole , where she was enchanted by the
Jardim da Mi installation and was impressed by the work "
Ruínas ", exhibited in the
Virgínia building .
Back to her office routine in Itapema, the professional is preparing for another participation in the Santa Catarina exhibition, scheduled to take place from
May 21 to July 2 at
The Spot One , attached to Balneário Shopping. And she will show in her environment how she processed all the references seen, felt and discovered in São Paulo.
