Frieze New York , one of the world’s leading international art fairs, returns to The Shed in New York this year, bringing together over 60 galleries from 25 countries and a diverse program of events. The 2024 edition, which runs from May 1-5, promises to be an enriching cultural experience , highlighting New York’s role as a cultural capital and leader in the international art market. In addition to the renowned galleries, the event will feature a special section dedicated to young galleries, overseen by Lumi Tan, curator and Curatorial Director of Luna Luna (a traveling art theme park that originated as a 1987 project by Austrian artist André Heller). This section provides a platform for emerging or under-recognized artists to showcase their work to an international audience . Throughout this art week, events and activities will take place at other New York art spaces, including the opening of major institutional exhibitions: Petrit Halilaj's Roof Garden Commission at the Metropolitan Museum of Art , "Arlene Shechet: Girl Group " at the Storm King Art Center , and "Mika Tajima: Super Natural " at the Hill Art Foundation .
