São Paulo! Among the exhibitions this month,
highlights include Melissa Cody at MASP, 35 years of Mão Afro-Brasileira at MAM and Van Gogh Live 8k at Shopping Lar Center. Below, we list

1. Melissa Cody: Woven Skies - MASP

From
October 20 to
January 21, 2024 , MASP will host the exhibition
"Melissa Cody: woven skies" , which brings together
26 textile works by the North American artist that mix traditional symbols and patterns of Navajo tapestry with personal references, ranging from the pixelated world of computers to the landscapes of Arizona.
2. Hands: 35 years of the Afro-Brazilian Hand - MAM and Museu Afro Brasil Emanoel Araujo
From
October 19 (until March 2024), the
Museum of Modern Art of São Paulo and the
Museu Afro Brasil Emanoel Araujo present the exhibition "
Mãos: 35 anos da Mão Afro-Brasileira ", which will be on display simultaneously in both institutions, bringing together paintings, engravings, photographs, sculptures and documents by more than 30 Afro-descendant
Brazilian artists , popular, academic, modern and/or contemporary. The exhibition
celebrates and
revisits the legacy of
A Mão Afro-Brasileira , a show held at MAM in
1988 – the year of the centenary of the abolition of slavery – curated by Emanoel Araujo and which marked the
history of art in the country.
3. "Horror in the cinema" - MIS
For Halloween this year, from
October 31st to
November 4th, 2023 , curated by André Sturm, MIS presents the exhibition
"Terror in Cinema" , which celebrates an audiovisual genre almost
as old as cinema itself. Through an engaging, impressive and immersive journey, visitors will be able to
revisit and
experience iconic moments in the history of the horror genre.
The exhibition “
Marta Minujín: Live ” is the first panoramic exhibition in Brazil of one of the most important Latin American artists of her generation. On display at the
Pinacoteca de São Paulo , the exhibition brings together more than 100 works by the Argentine
Marta Minujín , who moves between different languages, scales, artistic and social circles.
5. BLOW-UP: a breath of fun - OCA, Ibirapuera Park
BlowUp: A Breath of Fun is a tour that passes through several
gigantic inflatable structures and projections that combine
creativity and
interactivity in a
multisensory environment. The public will be invited to embark and explore an immersive space of more than
10 thousand square meters , organized into
15 thematic modules that present a fantasy, playful and interactive universe. The exhibition will be on display until
February 11, 2024 at OCA, Ibirapuera Park.
6. Warner House - Eldorado Shopping Mall
Casa Warner is back, but these are the last days to visit it. Until October 29,
Shopping Eldorado presents, in celebration of the
100th anniversary of
Warner Bros. studios , a themed space with more than
1,500 m² , with activities and interactive installations that will take visitors on a journey through the studio's
100-year history along with their favorite characters and franchises!
7. Van Gogh Live 8k - Shopping Lar Center

Van Gogh returns to São Paulo in a new
immersive exhibition with unprecedented technology at
Shopping Lar Center . With
a highly successful first season at the “Beyond Van Gogh” exhibition, which attracted over
380,000 visitors , the new
Van Gogh Live 8k exhibition arrives in São Paulo after debuting in Rio de Janeiro and visiting Goiânia, Fortaleza and Recife, bringing together an audience of over
1 million people .
