MIS, MASP, Japan House and IMS are packed with new exhibitions that will be part of the city's cultural calendar in March 2024

The cultural calendar of the city of São Paulo is packed with exhibitions and fairs to visit and explore in March! Among the programs this month, highlights include Tomie Ohtake's works, Gran Fury, at MASP, and the last few days, “Living with Robots”, at Japan House.

Below, we list 6 cultural programs that you can't miss this March in the capital of São Paulo!

1. New Photography 2024 | Colors of São Paulo - MIS


Until March 17 , MIS visitors will have the opportunity to see the work of photographer Rafa Rojas , who opens the season of the series "Colors of São Paulo" , a series that explores a new vision of gray São Paulo, seeking an escape in the colors of the city's architecture .

2. Masks and Flowers: the roles of Tomie Ohtake - Instituto Tomie Ohtake


Focusing on the papers, documents and magazines found in Tomie Ohtake 's personal collection, in her home-studio, the exhibition that will run until May at the Tomie Ohtake Institute offers visitors the opportunity to learn a little more about the artist's life and work.

3. Chaves: The Exhibition – MIS Experience


In honor of the 40th anniversary of the premiere of one of the most beloved TV series in Brazil – and in all of Latin America –, Chaves: The Exhibition (at MIS Experience) is the largest exhibition about Chaves ever held in the world. There are more than 20 iconic scenes that were part of the lives of millions of viewers! The exhibition runs until March 30.

4. Living with robots - Japan House


Designed to interact with humans in a friendly, safe and collaborative way, "friendly robots" are the theme of the exhibition “Living with robots”, which runs until March 31, 2024 , on the ground floor of Japan House São Paulo.

The exhibition aims to portray particular aspects of the development of Japanese robots, offering the opportunity to reflect on living with them in a friendly way , as well as how they are incorporated into Japanese daily life.

6. Little Africas: the Rio that samba invented - IMS


On display until April 21 , the exhibition "Little Africas: the Rio that samba invented" reconstructs the cultural scene that, between the years 1910 and 1940, produced and consolidated urban samba as it became known in Brazil and the world. Through recordings, works, documents and objects from the IMS collections and other institutions, the exhibition also shows how the complex network of solidarity , spirituality and music formed at that time spreads through the contemporary production of samba schools and blocks, terreiros and backyards.
