The
UGT Exhibition at Paulista reaches its 11th edition in 2025 with the theme "
Cities: Projects and Human Rights". Organized by the General Union of Workers (UGT), the exhibition occupies Avenida Paulista again, between Rua Augusta and Alameda Campinas, from May 1 to May 31. Curated by
Didiana Prata and
Fernando Costa Netto, the exhibition presents unpublished works by
Xadalu Tupã Jekupé, who addresses indigenous and projects causes, and
Pri Barbosa, who highlights human rights through poetry and social critique.
In tune with
COP30 and commitments made by the UGT, the exhibition reinforces the
defense of climate education and sustainable development. "Climate change and inequalities impact millions. Art raises awareness and mobilizes," affirms Ricardo Patah, president of UGT. The bike lane on Paulista will host
30 panels accessible 24 hours a day, also available online, expanding the national reach of the initiative. "The exhibition
reaffirms art as a tool for awareness and transformation," says Costa Netto. The curation sought to highlight inspiring actions in contrast to daily crises. "Xadalu and Pri Barbosa have
activist trajectories and created a
more just imagery of life," says Didiana Prata.
The project's idealizer, André Guimarães, recalls that the exhibition has already addressed themes such as democracy and gender equality and now reinforces its role by focusing on projects and human rights. Chiquinho Pereira, a leader of UGT, adds: "We want to broaden the debate on projects, climate change, and sustainable development, uniting social justice, innovation, and decent work." The expectation is that the exhibition will impact more than 5 million people.
