With 25 years of history,
A CASA – Museu do Objeto Brasileiro opens its doors this Saturday, January 22, to host the first exhibition of 2022. Entitled “
A look at the collection – lace and embroidery ”, the exhibition, curated by and assembly carried out by interior designer Julio Rosa and journalist Zizi Carderari, brings together traditional and contemporary pieces of lace and embroidery art. "Choosing these embroideries represented
a fantastic journey through the country ", says the curator.
"Embroidery is very widespread in Brazil.
Lace is found in more specific places , such as the Irish lace from Divina Pastora, in Sergipe, the filé and the labyrinth lace in Ceará, and the bobbin lace from Morros de Mariana, in Piauí", he says. Renata Mellão, founder of the museum. "All of them, however, reveal to the public the riches of a thriving Brazil, the Brazil we love."
In addition to traditional techniques, there are contemporary works, such as those
signed by designers in partnership with artisan associations. “There are
five dresses that came from the exhibition 'Renda-se' (2015), curated by Dudu Bertolini,” says Renata. Lino Villaventura , Adriana Barra, Amapô, André Lima and Bertolini himself created the models that will be on display.
There will also be an
imposing bamboo sculpture in the space, created by engineer Dom Fernandes, from Bronkz Bambu, which resembles a tree. The piece, measuring 5.90 meters tall, was inspired by the work of Vietnamese architect Vo Trong Nghia and will be on display for the first time at
CASACOR São Paulo 2021 , in the environment of
Kalil Ferre Paisagismo .
The exhibition will also feature a soundtrack by percussionist and composer Caíto Marcondes and an audiovisual recorded by Dudu Bertolini, recounting his experience in promoting dresses with artisan associations, and by João Braga, who tells the story of lace.
