An exhibition that is now on display at the CCBB São Paulo , the show " The Tension " by Argentine Leandro Erlich began its season in Brazil at the Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil Rio de Janeiro . The works are large-scale works, such as a floating boat and elevator, windows for imaginary gardens and even a swimming pool in which visitors can submerge themselves without fear of drowning - characteristics of the artist's provocative work, which is increasingly gaining prominence in the contemporary art scene. The name “The Tension” is ambiguous in sound: those who don’t read may hear “attention” and translate one of the feelings that Leandro proposes when portraying spaces that we are used to seeing in our daily lives, but displaced from the condition of normality. “The work of Leandro Erlich is structured on the mechanism of doubt. What our eyes see is at odds with what our mind knows”, summarizes curator Marcello Dantas .

A success in several cities where it has already been exhibited, the work “ Swimming Pool ” (in Portuguese) is gaining space in the CCBB Rio de Janeiro roundabout and promises to provoke different sensations both for those who enter it – without getting wet – and for those who are on the other side. outside: a layer of water between one side and the other creates the illusion that the people in the background are actually submerged in a pool.

The idea of visual clipping suggested by windows appears in the work “ Blind Window ”: fixed landscapes, imaginary and unusual situations appear in architectural or decorative objects, such as a window or a false mirror in an elevator.
