Photographs have always been part of home decor , but traditional photo frames and enlargements that immortalize unique moments can go further and transform interior design. According to professionals participating in CASACOR Ribeirão Preto 2021 , photography is consolidating itself as a trend and has gained even more space in environments. And the exhibition, which runs until November 15th in the city, brings inspiration and new formats to bet on this resource.

Memories and textures

According to visual artist Carolina Koff , whose works are part of the Bathroom Terrace and Wine Bar environments at CASACOR Ribeirão, photographs provide a more practical and easy way to transform a space and they can compose an environment in a variety of ways. "Large formats or compositions, for example, images that bring textures and colors or an emotional memory , combinations that create a contemporary or retro environment, all of these are options that photography can bring when thought of as part of the environment", he explains.

Carolina also highlights that in the current times, photography has become an important tool for connecting with well-being. "The home has increasingly become a refuge and a photograph designed for a given environment helps to bring the feeling that the person wants to have in that space. The presence of nature in images and materials is also a trend accentuated by the pandemic moment in which we live."

Ideas to apply

The artist believes that, with creative freedom, any space in the house can receive a photograph . "I think that the choice, to be assertive, must take into account the light of the environment and the composition as a whole, but any space looks incredible with a photograph", he recommends.

According to photographer Poliana Pereira, from Casa4 Art, for photographs to enhance a home decor project, one of the main points in choosing them is that they are aligned with the concept proposed by the designer or architect, whether through their symbolism, color palette or personal relevance to the client.

As all photography has the power to connect people, whether they are family memories, portraits, abstracts, concepts or landscapes, Poliana also believes that the elements can be used in any environment, but emphasizes attention to the materials that will be used. "To Each environment requires an evaluation of the best material to be used to preserve the graphic quality of the images."
