The "Tiradentes Creative Week" is a cultural event that takes place in the city of Tiradentes, in Minas Gerais, Brazil. It is dedicated to the promotion of culture, art, design, creative entrepreneurship and innovation. The event aims to bring together artists, craftspeople, designers, architects, companies, entrepreneurs and creativity enthusiasts to share ideas, hold exhibitions, workshops, lectures, performances and other activities that promote culture and creativity in the region. The city is transformed into a space where people interested in the
creative economy can interact, learn, exchange experiences and collaborate on a wide range of projects. This initiative is important for boosting local culture and economy, as well as strengthening the artistic community in the region and in other states.
This year, Tiradentes Creative Week featured more than 80 activities. Below we list our favorite events. Check them out!

Matizes Dumont group In this edition of SCT, the
Matizes Dumont group was honored at the same Yves Alves Cultural Center. Embroidered canvases with the exclusive original work of Minas Gerais artists Matizes Dumont enchanted visitors.
The exhibition brought together
very special embroideries , whose central theme was the power of the feminine. Poetic-visual records that symbolize the search for human, social and environmental values and fulfill the function of art to mobilize the sensitivity of the visitor. In many cultures, the crafts of weaving, spinning, embroidery and the entire chain of activities that involve them are feminine attributions. The exhibition highlighted the central role of the female weaver, spinner and embroiderer, bringing together these two complementary arts, tapestry and embroidery, in a unique gesture.
4. “It was stone” , with Alva Design
At the
Casa Padre Toledo museum, the Minas Gerais
design studio Alva, owned by Marcelo and Suzana Alvarenga , exhibited pieces made from soapstone created over its ten years of existence.
Since the beginning of the studio's trajectory, stone has been a recurring material in its work. Using the lathe as the main tool, in partnership with the artisan Mauro Antônio de Souza, the works on display highlight the plastic potential of the material, whether through its malleability, textures and tones.
5. “Janete Costa , a Brazilian designer”
“Janete, a Brazilian designer”, as the theme itself says, shows the designer side of this professional.
A woman ahead of her time . With a keen and unprejudiced eye, she shed light on Brazilian craftsmanship, placing it on an equal footing with the works of renowned artists. Her work was greatly influenced by craftsmanship, including the furniture and objects she developed for her interior design projects.
INSTALLATION
1. “The bond and the embrace”, by Plataforma 4
For the third consecutive year, the balcony of the Tiradentes City Council will be occupied by women. In this case, three! Camila Fix, Flávia Pagotti Silva and Rejane Carvalho form Platform 4.
The installation is inspired by the text of the same name by Mario Quintana. “I had never noticed how curious a bow is... a ribbon that goes around. It gets tangled, but doesn’t get tangled, it twists and turns, it circles and that’s it: the bow is tied. That’s what a hug is like: heart to heart, all of this surrounded by a hug.” Together, the trio of designers have already won awards in Brazil and abroad, such as the Salão Design, the IF Design Award and the Design for Better World, among others.
2. "Circular Square", by Hugo Sasdelli and Jader Almeida Installed in Villa Chafariz, one of the most charming places in the city, the piece was a hit among visitors to SCT 2023. Santa Catarina designer
Jader Almeida debuted at the creative week this year, with the installation created in partnership with
Hugo Sasdelli and support from Sollos.
The symbolism of the circle emerges as the guiding thread, where circular shapes connect and represent the infinity of human interactions. In this environment, the diversity of perspectives and approaches finds its space of convergence, stimulating an atmosphere of inclusion and collaboration.

In addition to his contributions to the world of interior design, Jader Almeida also established his own eponymous brand. Hugo Sasdelli, originally from Minas Gerais, stands out for his passion for creating emotional and meaningful spaces in the contemporary architectural landscape. His professional career is marked by a declaration of intrinsic intentions: "Connecting people and their spaces. Bringing the new, the technical, without forgetting the memories."
