Denise Milan , who surprised with her container work Banquet of the Earth at
Janelas CASACOR São Paulo 2020 , will now have her project permanently displayed at Usina de Arte, in Água Preta, Pernambuco.
To celebrate the inauguration, the artist will also present the performance PETRAFAGIA curated by Marcello Dantas, at the botanical art park, where the exhibition will be installed. The socio-environmental and cultural project, initiated by the Pessoa Queiroz Family, has been promoting surprising actions since 2015 that create a cycle of environmental, economic and cultural development in the Mata Sul region of the State.
The Earth Stool was the main work of the project “Earth, everyone’s home”, created for Janelas CASACOR São Paulo. Denise Milan assembled it in a container-display installed in the parking lot of the Dan Galeria, curated by Marcello Dantas. The project revisits fragments of glass and other minerals on a table with haute cuisine dishes and works well with textures and shapes to convey an important reflection on the origin of the elements. “A banquet served with dishes that reveal the metamorphosis of the Earth, offering flavors that expand our connection with nature,” says the artist.
According to Denise Milan, her work repositions human beings to their meaning on Earth, which in times of pandemic restores the meaning and value of life. The Banquet of the Earth was exhibited at the GLASSTRESS group show, a parallel exhibition to the 58th Venice Biennale, in 2019 before Janelas CASACOR.
