“ The starting point was the idea of building a square where the galleries would be concentrated , since they occupy most of the space, as if it were a large village in the middle of the pavilion. Then we extended the construction towards Sugarloaf Mountain. upstairs we will also have space for events and bars”, says Pedro. The MAR Pavilion will house the VISTA programs, for galleries with less than 10 years of operation; SOLO , a space curated by Ademar Britto where galleries will have works by a single artist; EXPANSÃO , which includes institutions and projects with social responsibility actions that use art as a platform; the Publishers; and MIRA , a video art program curated by Victor Gorgulho. The central area of Marina da Glória will be the Pavilhão Terra , where the galleries of the PANORAMA program will be located, houses already established in the art market. “ The challenge this year was to create an external pavilion to expand the fair , but that would complement the existing area. For at least four years we have been working on this process of creating external installations with new areas for ArtRio. This time we designed a structure with a more modern architecture. ” bold so that the visitor has a unique and impactful experience ”, adds Pedro Évora. ArtRio Online
