The Colors of the World project lands at CASACOR São Paulo 2022 ! With the support of Tintas Coral and the NGO Estou Refugiado , Congolese visual artist Lavi Kasongo is working on the creation of a 22-meter panel that will be present at Bar Caracol, designed by architect Pedro Luiz de Marqui for the São Paulo exhibition. The duo from Plantar Ideias, who designed the square in front of the bar, are also taking part in this event.
This Monday, June 20, when Refugee Day is celebrated, a date dedicated to raising awareness of the cause of refugees around the world who were forced to leave their homes due to wars, persecution or armed conflicts, the action reinforces the importance of integrating these professionals into the job market. "Bringing the art of refugees to CASACOR represents a huge opportunity for these professionals who are looking for a chance to start over through art in Brazil. This is a window that connects the countries of origin and destination, uniting different cultures", explains Luciana Capobianco , president of the Estou Refugiado Institute.

About the NGO Estou Refugiado and the Colors of the World project

Started in April, the Colors of the World project is an initiative of the NGO Estou Refugiado together with the Grupo de Artistas Plásticos Refugiados (Group of Refugee Plastic Artists) that aims to fill the emptiness of the construction sites of large cities with color, joy and hope. The intention is to achieve three pillars: urban renewal , cultural effervescence and economic development . The spaces, provided by entrepreneurs, architects and builders, become creative murals of migrants and refugees seeking professional relocation. To participate, simply contact us by email at contato@estourefugiado.org.br. Since 2015, the NGO Estou Refugiado has been working to assist migrants and refugees to realize their dreams and plans in Brazil.
