Galeria VerArte presents the project “
SÃO PAULO 469 YEARS: WHAT ENCHANTS YOU ABOUT SÃO PAULO? ” and promotes a series of exhibitions throughout the city of São Paulo. Curated by
Vera Simões , the series will be divided into six stages, which will feature works of art by 12 visual artists, with their own language, in a tribute to the city of São Paulo on its anniversary.
“Dialoguing Art, which will be exhibited on the façade of Conjunto Nacional - a cultural corridor on Avenida Paulista and one of the city's postcards, with the public who use or walk around there, is one of the project's focuses”, explains the curator.
Vera Simoes. The second stage will take place on the ground floor of the Conjunto Nacional building, where there will be an exhibition of panels with works of art and a little of the creative history of each artist. There are several works by artists such as
Cris Cavalcante, Dulce Julianelli, Elisabeth Wortsman, Fernanda Fernandes , Gaby Alves, Gaby Faltay, Gersony Silva, Lafaiete Papaiano, Malu Mesquita, Maximo Hernandez, Silvana LaCreta Ravena and Zina Kossoy. In the subway
The third, fourth and fifth stages take place simultaneously at the subway and train stations. Between January 9 and 31, passengers at the
Adolfo Pinheiro (Line 5 - Lilac), João Dias (Line 9 - Emerald) and Oscar stations
Freire (Line 4-Yellow) will be able to enjoy exhibitions that feature 19 images and an opening poster, at each station. The project, which has ViaMobilidade and ViaQuatro as partners, takes art everywhere and, mainly, to places where it is not normally found. “In the subway, where thousands of people pass by every day, it is possible to dialogue between art and population of São Paulo, allowing people to know, see and experience art in a real way”, adds Vera, who aims to make art accessible to everyone. To conclude this cycle, the sixth and final exhibition will take place at
Galeria VerArte with all the physical works. Opening on Saturday, January 21, admirers will be able to visit the Gallery and pay their respects to the visual artists and curator Vera Simões.
