The University of Fortaleza, part of the Edson Queiroz Foundation, opened the exhibition “Adriana Varejão – Pele do tempo” on the 26th at the Espaço Cultural Airton Queiroz. The exhibition, which features 32 works, is curated by Luisa Duarte in a retrospective that introduces the work of one of the greatest artists on the Brazilian contemporary scene. The aim was to present Varejão’s work in a clear and educational way, emphasizing her questioning and critical nature. “Adriana Varejão – Pele do tempo” features works from various phases of the artist’s life: from China to the Baroque, from tilework to the iconography of colonization, from art history to religion, from the body and its eroticism to ceramics and maps, and from tattoos to aquatic beings.
