A project designed to
house homeless people is causing a stir in Los Angeles. It is a
small village with 103 micro homes located on a narrow plot of land inside a park
north of Hollywood . Close to a major highway, The place stands out for its vibrant colors, which bring joy to the region.
Los Angeles' latest annual homeless count, conducted in June 2020, showed a total of
66,433 people living on the city's streets . The main reasons are a
lack of affordable housing combined with exorbitant rents . Based on this, an office specialized in the creation of
Tiny Houses began to act to intervene in this sad scenario.

made from pallets . They are capable of housing up to two people, as
they are 2.4 meters wide .

"Los Angeles is certainly among the most vibrant places in the world today to design and build projects – large, small, permanent or transitional – to remedy and eliminate the problem of homelessness," said studio founder Michael B. Lehrer.

The Village took just
13 weeks to build . The goal was to create a space that was both agile and homely, but also sustainable, respecting the environment as much as possible. A third condominium designed by Lehrer Architects,
Tiny Home Village Shelter at Sunset is set to open by the end of the month on the city's east side.
