Vessel Structure to reopen later this year with new safety measures
After closing in 2021, the sculptural Vessel , located in the Hudson Yards complex, a revitalized area of Manhattan, is preparing to reopen its doors to the public, this time with additional safety measures. The contemporary, honeycomb-shaped structure was designed by British designer Thomas Heatherwick and opened in 2019.

What happened at the Vessel serves as a reminder of how safety measures must be a priority in any project or facility intended to receive thousands of visitors from all over the world; in addition to leading to reflection on the importance of mental health and the implementation of public policies related to the subject.
The beehive-shaped structure opened in 2019 and quickly became a popular tourist spot.
