Designed for a couple with two young children, this seafront house in Búzios (RJ) has 223 m³ of built area and 108 m² of outdoor space and was designed by
Bitty Talbolt and Cecília Teixeira , from the
Brise Arquitetura firm. “A well-equipped gourmet area with a sea view was their main dream,” says Bitty.

The renovation brought several changes to the original layout: on the ground floor, for example, the integration of the living room, dining room and part of the outdoor patio allowed for a considerable expansion of the social area.
On the same floor, the space of one of the suites became the current kitchen , which was integrated into the new gourmet area, with 24 m², facing the sea. (Juliano Colodeti, do MCA Estudio/CASACOR)
The architects also created a new
suite , transforming the space under the stairs into a bathroom and an old storage room into a bedroom.
“We also raised the height of the roof, taking care not to change the original façade. In the past, houses in Búzios had very low ceilings,” says Cecília. (Juliano Colodeti, do MCA Estudio/CASACOR)

Overall, the architects conveyed the chic seaside vibe by combining white walls, touches of blue and natural fibers.
The gourmet area was inspired by a trip the clients took to Greece and loved. The architects convinced them to decorate the space with blue shutters and a large rustic wooden table with eight white chairs.

“The shutters became a point of color in a house with predominantly neutral decor,” concludes architect Cecília Teixeira.
