Imagine taking a well-deserved rest on vacation or a long holiday and having vast vegetation as a view as soon as you look out the windows or step foot outside your home? This is the proposal for a cabin built by American studio Heliotrope Architects , which created a cedar-clad holiday home on a wooded hillside in northern Washington, United States. Named Buck Mountain Cabin , it was built in a region known as "Orcas Island", which in addition to the green areas, also has a lake nearby. The architects wanted the house's decoration to be a continuation of the beautiful environment in which it would be located , and the clients embraced the idea.

For a wooded hillside, the studio created a rectilinear two-story cabin that has a small base and a larger upper level. The villa has a generous 142 m².

Inside the cabin, the public area is on the upper level, next to a bedroom and bathroom. There's also a "secure pantry" where owners can store their belongings if they end up renting the cabin.

The lower level contains a second bedroom and bathroom. The sleeping areas face the rocky slope, giving visitors a feeling of security and comfort. The openings provide fluidity and minimize the distinction between interior and exterior . Furthermore, to the west, the glass door allows access to a patio that floats above the land and serves as an ideal place to contemplate the sunset.
