Recovering an abandoned space is a challenge, not only because of the bureaucratic aspects of the renovation, but also because it preserves the history of the place. Through decoration and architecture, it was possible to rescue this
house inspired by the style of California houses from the 1970s . but with a touch of contemporaneity and style. The renovation of the house served to accommodate a young couple of musicians who needed, in addition to all the comfort that a home should offer, a
space to serve as a recording studio . Many modifications had to be made, starting with the awkward division, which covered two stairs and divided the house into a small room with three separate spaces.

The solution proposed by the architects at
Studio Hagen Hall was to use a "break-break" to
remove some walls and make the space more fluid . In this way, a new distribution of space was proposed: on the upper floor, two bedrooms enjoy views of the trees through large windows. On the ground floor, a professional recording studio, acoustically adjusted and isolated from the rest of the house and the neighbors, was created. For the residents, the best part is having a homely, welcoming space that combines professional and personal life. “It’s a small house, but
every inch of space is used perfectly to suit our work and home life . We love being in the living room.” living room, looking across the kitchen to the trees beyond. We feel very lucky to be here, living and working," they say.

Despite preserving a 1970s style, the residents wanted to bring a more contemporary feel to the decor. To achieve this, the living room featured
earthy colors , which convey a welcoming feel without sacrificing elegance. The bedroom features a more Nordic minimalist style. was the big bet – which made the space more spacious and cozy.

The use of light wood was also essential. The wooden panels took center stage in all the rooms, creating a common link and bringing a more natural atmosphere to the space, while at the same time being quite elegant and timeless.
