La Duna Skatepark is a new proposal for a public space dedicated to sports on the northern border of Mexico. The project was coordinated by landscape architects Valia Wright and Eduardo Peón and architect Francisco Elías , who together with urban planners, local architects and sociologists, set as their main objective to understand the relationship between this section of the park and the surrounding neighborhood, and, at the same time, bringing the natural context of the Chihuahuan desert , in Mexico, as a way of recognizing the natural heritage of the area.

The space participates in a government urban improvement program to expand marginalized neighborhoods.
To materialize this space, a high-performance concrete was selected to achieve this smooth and continuous surface , with the color of the sand that surrounds the city.

The project includes, in addition to the skate park, classrooms for workshops , an administrative building that, on the upper level, offers a platform for observing the urban landscape.

This example of skatepark architecture is an urban landmark – with its curves, slopes and plantings, which will grow and provide an important green element in the city.
