Located in central Malaysia and overlooking the Merdeka Stadium, the building designed by Fender Katsalidis
promises to be the second tallest skyscraper in the world , behind only the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. Called
Merdeka 118 , the skyscraper received this name because it will consist of
118 floors . At the top, a pointed tower was responsible for giving the building the title of second tallest in the world,
totaling 678.9 meters (this mark classifies it as as a "
megatall ", according to the Council Of Tall Buildings And Urban Habitat).
The project, which began in 2016, will finally be completed in 2022. Its interior is capable of housing
288,000 m² of usable space and 158,000 m² of rentable offices . Retail, residential spaces, hotels and even the creation of a viewing platform are planned. to transform the building into a
tourist spot .

Karl Fender . The Merdeka 118 was completed by Fender Katsalidis in collaboration with local architecture firms RSP and GDP and engineering firms Robert Bird Group and LERA.
