Inspired by the modernist architecture of Brasília and called apartment 114S, this
150 m² project was designed to be a meeting point for family and friends. The renovation was carried out by the
BLOCO Arquitetos office, partners
Daniel Mangabeira, Henrique Coutinho and Matheus Seco , and
CASACOR Brasília .
The original three-
bedroom property was completely remodeled, resulting in a large social room with only one suite for the couple. The layout – previously compartmentalized – became more integrated, with the
kitchen connected to the living room and dining room. Now, a new side support space houses a wine cabinet and, in this new organization, the appliances are partially exposed, while the refrigerator – the largest of them – was “hidden” from view in the living room, positioned in the room next door, which also functions as a service area.
The removal of several walls revealed part of the original structure, such as the beams. The wooden parquet floor was removed, restored and reinstalled. The carpentry is made of freijó and the furniture curation includes pieces such as the Lia, Mole and Paraty armchairs (by
Sérgio Rodrigues ), the Zeca armchairs and Fina and Zanini chairs (by
Zanine Caldas ), the Grampo coffee table (by
Fernando Mendes ) and the Vitrola sideboard (by
Felipe Protti ).
In the lighting system, rails and surface-mounted lights were used, in addition to two Corda pendants (
Guilherme Wentz ) over the dining table and lamps on the side tables. In addition, a Dot wall light (by
Alessandra Mourão ) was included in the guest bathroom. The rest of the lighting was built into the ceiling.
