First Louis Vuitton restaurant in Japan highlights sailing tradition

On the top floor of the new Louis Vuitton store in Osaka, Japan, there is a surprise for customers who pass by: the brand's first restaurant and café , titled Le Café V and Sugalabo V. The architectural design, which stands out from the urban landscape, was designed by the firm Jun Aoki & Associates . Located in Osaka, known for being the "City of Water", the project decided to reference the local sailing tradition and installed ten sails on the building's facade , creating a beautiful 3D effect, as if the building moved with the wind.

In an attempt to connect indoor and outdoor, the restaurant opens onto an outdoor terrace where visitors can enjoy views of Osaka city. In the furniture, there are pieces by Paola Lenti , with turquoise weaves that refer to the sea. On the menu are the creations of award-winning chef Yosuke Suga , whose restaurant in Tokyo has already been voted one of the best in the world. While the cafe serves cocktails on the terrace to customers during the day, the restaurant will only be open for dinner.
