Floor plan: what is it and how to create it?
The floor plan is one of the main technical drawings used in architecture and engineering to represent the layout of a building or construction. It is a graphical representation made from a top view, as if the building had been "cut" horizontally, generally at a height of 1.50 or 1.60 m from the floor. This representation allows for a detailed view of the arrangement of projects, walls, doors, windows, and other elements present on a specific floor. It is important to highlight that, in addition to the floor plan (ground level), there are also plans for upper floors, plans for roofs, structural plans, and other variations that address different aspects of construction. These professionals have the technical knowledge and tools necessary to develop accurate drawings that comply with the current standards of ABNT (Brazilian Association of Technical Standards).
A good plan should contain essential information for the understanding of the project. Among the main elements that should be represented are the dimensions of the rooms, thickness and location of the walls, position of doors and windows, fixed furniture, indication of wet areas, such as bathrooms, laundries, and kitchens, in addition to dimensions and scales that facilitate interpretation. In some cases, details about materials and finishes, as well as solar orientation (cardinal points), which is an important factor in taking advantage of natural light and energy efficiency of the project, are also included. floor plan, project, architecture The floor plan, therefore, is an indispensable tool for the planning and execution of construction projects, serving as a basis for communication between architects, engineers, builders, and clients. Understanding the information contained within it is vital to ensure that the project is faithfully executed and meets the expectations and needs of its occupants.
