Ca' Gioia residence, by architect
Francesco Pascali . Located in Bassano del Grappa, Italy, the residence is framed by the mountainous contours of the Venetian Prealps.

The house represents a contemporary interpretation of Palladian architecture, in fact, the building is close to the famous Villa Angarano - designed by the Italian Renaissance architect Andrea Palladio in the 1500s.

Designboom , Ca' Gioia has an L-shaped structure: a long, low block with a sloping roof connecting the two-story main building.
With pure forms, the house achieves an impressive balance between monumental forms and simplicity. This is accentuated with geometric lines that help to distinguish a precise relationship between positive and negative space.

The impression of monumentality is achieved with the help of large slabs of sintered stone. Measuring 1500 × 3365 mm, the material covers the entire exterior, with vertical and horizontal surfaces, including the roof. Complementing the vegetation of the surrounding park, the external flooring it is covered with bianco polare slabs.

Because they are non-porous, sintered stone surfaces are naturally ideal for outdoor environments. In addition, the material is also resistant to environmental conditions - extreme temperatures, UV rays and weather - and cleaning chemicals.

These high-performance qualities benefit the livability of the home: the coverings help to lower the internal temperature in summer and keep the insulation layer underneath dry and protected in winter. The 12 mm thick panels - regardless of the finish - ensure that the number of of joints is kept to a minimum to meet structural standards and weight.
