Located in Jundiaí, in the interior of São Paulo, this house was built from scratch – little by little and in blocks – in the center of the family property. The project was born after several interviews between architect Noel Marinho and the clients , including visits to the site to study the best location for the property.

Because it is a very large house and a plot of land with exceptional views, the architect considered it essential to prioritize the view of the Serra do Japi (a region listed by UNESCO as a biosphere reserve), thus eliminating the need for main facades. In addition, all circulation within the house should be direct and pleasant.

Although the project dates back to 2010, due to the pandemic, the family recently commissioned architect Patricia Marinho – from the CASACOR Rio cast and daughter of Noel Marinho – to create a 100 m² gourmet space, attached to the pool, which is already being designed. The professional He also designed all the interiors of the residence – the 1300 m² house is the last residential project by Noel, who died in 2018 at the age of 90.

Right at the main entrance you can see the view of Serra do Japi. The heart of the house is the large main hall on the ground floor, with double-height ceilings and a staircase that connects the garage (on the lower floor) to the couple's and their son's apartments and , via a suspended walkway, to the guest wing (which is on the upper floor).

On the ground floor, to the right, is the social area, with a 120 m² living room, a large balcony-viewpoint and services. To the left of the hall is the leisure and sports area, with an indoor pool lane that can be closed in winter.
The pool mural measures 5.70 m x 4.60 m and was made with glass tiles - the client's order was signed by the architect Noel Marinho himself. "The idea of having a large work of art that would mark the environment with color and The expression appeared in the conception of the project. It should also be seen from other environments, such as the entrance hall and the living room balcony. Noel started from studies on three-dimensionality, initiated in his canvases and cutouts. The space generated is wide and versatile. Through large sliding doors, the environment is fully integrated with the outside”, explains Patricia.

The staircase is also a space to house part of the clients' art collection: “ The tile panel from the CORBU series, a matrix created by Noel Marinho based on a painting on canvas from 2012, measures 1.09 m x 2.64 m and was created specifically for the site , in harmony with the sculpture by Frida Baranek”, says the architect.

The carpentry was specially designed for the clients and carefully executed: from the large door at the main entrance to the house – which is striking both for its height and its red color –, to the shelves that give personality to spaces such as the living room and family room , passing through through the large sliding doors that isolate and define the spaces.

Seeking a reinterpretation of modernism, the decoration follows modern architecture and proposes itself as timeless: modern Brazilian furniture is the main protagonist . Throughout the house you can find pieces by Hugo França, Oscar Niemeyer , Jorge Zalszupin, Claudia Moreira Salles, Sergio Rodrigues , Campana Brothers and Paulo Mendes da Rocha .

The art collection is vast: there are sculptures by Amilcar de Castro, Emanuel Araujo and Tomie Ohtake, paintings by Gonçalo Ivo, Burle Marx and Manfredo de Souzaneto.

The architecture and landscaping projects were born together: Fernando Chacel and Sidney Linhares, long-time friends and partners of Noel Marinho, worked side by side, integrating greenery into every angle of the project.
