An architect's travel guide should be a blueprint of a city. A detailed map of the construction of each monument, museum and other tourist attractions so common in travel itineraries – all duly signed by their creator. This guide should come with a photographic appendix of the interior and landscape design of each space, detailing materials, elements and creative concepts. If this guide existed and presented the Pampulha Architectural Complex, it would be a great lesson for young architects and a great source of inspiration for professionals in the field. It would bear the signatures of Oscar Niemeyer, Burle Marx and Portinari, and would exude a creative beauty that few places in the world can express.
This year,
CASA COR Minas returns to the Pampulha region and it was not a random choice. Holding the event in the region offers the public a greater wealth of Brazilian architectural scenery, in addition to presenting to the world what could be the newest UNESCO World Heritage Site. In case you didn't know, the complex is competing for the title that could be awarded in 2016.
