When it was purchased, this semi-detached house had a classic and somewhat boring decor. Located in Brighton, England, a young couple called on
Life Size Architecture to give it a
more contemporary and fun feel that would fit in much better with the personality of the new residents. The designers didn’t hesitate to create a
more playful look for the home. The first step was to use a staircase that led to the mezzanine, where a garden was created to bring the house closer to nature. In addition, the experts adopted an
industrial atmosphere. to make the project more modern.
The
industrial style is sought after among younger people precisely to bring a more laid-back atmosphere into the home. The designers' idea was to explore a
more modern industrial style, with contrasting colors and different textures – moving away from the classic "exposed brick". In this way, They managed to harmonize very well with the classic finishes that already existed in the house, thus making the project cheaper.
Despite the use of vibrant colors – which is not something that is so common in the industrial style – the use of
graphite metals takes center stage, especially on the staircase. The contrast of a modern piece with the wooden floor, which has a more natural characteristic, creates an
interesting mix of textures .
The shades of
petrol blue and yellow were prominent in the decor, and the living room looked quite fun with them. The designers opted for a very industrial style
ceiling light fixture , in the style of a rail in the room. In addition, personal items such as records, sound equipment and paintings were incorporated to make the decoration even more personalized.
In the kitchen, a
colorful floor was installed to divide the space, giving it a lot of style. Also noteworthy are the exposed
yellow beams that contrast and bring life to the kitchen.
